Does an external sunvisor exist for the Nissan Patrol Y62? Learn what to know about fitment, design, installation, heat reduction and choosing the right visor for your Y62.
Find Out MoreDoes a Nissan Patrol Y62 External Sunvisor Exist?
Yes, external sunvisor solutions can be available for the Nissan Patrol Y62, but fitment should always be confirmed for the exact vehicle and visor design.
The Y62 Patrol has a very different windscreen, roofline and front-end design compared with older Patrol generations such as the GQ and GU. That means a sunvisor designed for another Patrol series should not simply be assumed to fit a Y62.
A proper Y62 external sunvisor should be designed around the vehicle’s windscreen shape, roofline, mounting locations and required clearance.
If you are searching for a Nissan Patrol Y62 external sunvisor, the most important question is not simply whether a visor exists — it is whether the specific product is engineered for your Y62 configuration.
How an External Y62 Sunvisor Works
The basic purpose is to provide shade across the upper windscreen area and reduce direct solar exposure.

Why Fitment Matters on the Nissan Patrol Y62
A large 4WD like the Y62 needs a visor that matches its body design rather than a generic one-size-fits-all solution.
Y62-Specific Shape
The visor should follow the windscreen and roofline of the Y62 rather than relying on dimensions from another Patrol generation.

Check the Vehicle Configuration
Confirm the relevant model, year range and body configuration before ordering.
Inspect the Mounting System

Consider Windscreen Coverage
The purpose of an external sunvisor is to provide useful shading across the windscreen without creating visibility problems.
Consider Your Vehicle Use
Touring, camping, work and off-road vehicles may spend long periods exposed to direct sunlight.
Follow Installation Instructions
Correct installation is essential for secure mounting, clearance and safe vehicle operation.
Can a Y62 External Sunvisor Reduce Heat?
External shading can help reduce direct solar exposure through the windscreen.
An external sunvisor can provide shade before sunlight reaches the windscreen. This may reduce direct solar loading through the shaded portion of the glass and help limit heating of surfaces behind it.
However, it does not make the entire vehicle heat-proof. Sunlight can still enter through the side windows and other glass areas, while the roof and body can absorb solar energy.
